Denny Landzaat, the right-hand man to Patrick Kluivert, described his appointment as assistant coach of the Indonesian National Team as a dream come true. "For me, it's truly a dream realized," Landzaat shared. The two have a long history, having known each other since childhood and training together in the Ajax youth team. "We’ve been friends since we were eight years old. Patrick progressed quickly, and I aspired to reach that level," Landzaat recalled. He admitted he never anticipated working alongside Kluivert in a coaching capacity, but the opportunity presented by PSSI came at just the right time. When the offer to join the Indonesian National Team arose, both Landzaat and Kluivert were free from other commitments. "This team was in the works, but it came together unexpectedly. Previously, Patrick and I were both busy with our own roles—he as a coach and I as an assistant abroad. Now, the timing is ideal. I'm available, and he invited me to join him, which is a fantastic scenario for Indonesia," he explained. With Maluku heritage, Landzaat has found his time in Indonesia deeply rewarding and feels warmly welcomed. "It's incredible. The way the community has embraced us has been truly heartwarming," he shared. Despite his family ties to the region through his mother, this is Landzaat's first visit to Indonesia.
